Our Ephphatha Farms Open House was held on October 4, and what a day! It was beautiful, sunny, and warm. We had hot cider in the morning and ice cream in the afternoon. Those who toured our farm and our animal friends basked in the glowing sunshine. We were blessed with magnificent weather. We took full advantage of it with garden walks, lots of pumpkin gathering and painting. There were some very creative designs to be sure. And of course, visitors enjoyed tractor hay rides in our fields surrounded by the golden oaks and the red maples glistening in the sun. The gentle breeze blew, and the colored leaves fell, creating crunchy carpets to run through.
We had lots of homemade goodies: cookies, apple and pumpkin pies, zucchini and pumpkin breads, all homemade and very yummy. Our raffle baskets were lovely and great fundraisers. The Maine-made basket and the honey basket were favorites, as well as the area cheese and cheese boards. We had a festive array, including handmade napkins, and Carhartt gloves and hats. Our guests were generous with their bids, and it was great fun to call out the winning numbers at the end of the day! We raised more this year than ever before!
All of us at the Farm are so grateful to those who attended, to new and old friends who came to support and contribute to our mission. You have enabled us to care for the animals and the Earth, which are integral parts of the healing aspect of the Farm.
